Provides information on several activities appropriated for grades 3-5 that aimed to aid science teachers in incorporating lessons about bats in classroom curriculum. Background on bats; Procedure of an activity focused on the hearing and echolocation of bats; Effectiveness of integrating subject matter across the elementary curriculum.

Article 2 - Network Science:  Bats, Birds and trees

Presents how New Hampshire elementary schools students explored ecological issues through network science projects called Batnet, Birdnet, and Treenet.
